Special World Training

Special World Training

I am passionate about empowering parents who are dedicated to helping their children with additional needs. The aim of Special World Training is to help you and your child have a better more positive relationship with each other and a better quality of life for you both.

I offer specific courses to help with various needs of the child. They are available as live events and online. All of our children are unique and as you know one size does not fit all, so what helps one child may not help another.

These courses are a toolbox of strategies and techniques that are designed to help. My dream is to be able to help each unique individual child but that might not be possible, as parents of children with additional needs you may have an area of expertise that I do not have, and because I am passionate about empowering you I am also ready to collaborate with you to get your expertise involved with Special World Training – I want to help as many parents with children with additional needs as possible.

I am also aware of the lack of support  that parents of children with additional needs have; our world can be challenging and we need to care for each other, as well ourselves in a  non-judgmental community, where we can laugh and cry in a safe environment.

My Podcast series The Good,The Bad and The Ugly is all about getting people talking about disability and additional needs. I’m hoping that by doing this we can reach people who are feeling isolated, lost and overwhelmed. In an age where Government is failing children and adults with additional needs; families like myself are struggling to navigate this broken system. Trying to find support can be challenging, as many services are stretched or being shut down completely. This adds to the stress we already have in trying to be parents to our children.

We will be talking about all things in our Special World, the good, the bad and the ugly. I will be interviewing other parents of children with additional needs, as well as variety of professionals, and to people in our community who are offering services that help.

We need to get a wider audience listening and talking about disability. Only when this happens, I believe, disability won’t be feared as it is today.

At the events and courses I offer you will learn strategies on how to feel good in a challenging world, in a safe environment, where you can ‘just be you’ as well as connecting with others and sharing stories. At the Feel Good in a Challenging World events you will remember how to have fun, you will leave having made friends, having learnt stress busters, had fun and above all you can do it all again the following week This can be your weekly feel good therapy. An online course is available for those who can’t make it to the live events.

I believe knowledge is power and strength is in numbers, let’s all work together and support each within our special world community of people like you.
